Pastor

Pastor Mitchell began his Ministry at Berean Baptist Fellowship October 2017. He is married to Kimberly Gail Jones with two children Aaron and Hannah and two grandsons Samuel and Benjamin. Mitchell has served as a pastor of various churches within the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) over 35 years. He has served on various committees within local associations in the SBC. Mitchell has served on the Founders Southwest Planting committee 2002-2016. He is a graduate of the University of the Cumberlands with a BS in 1979. He has an MDiv degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary 1983. Pastor Mitchell has preached in various conferences in the USA and internationally. Mitchell leads worship and preaches in the Sunday morning services and shares in leading mid-week Bible Study and prayer.

Lay Leader

David is married to Vickie Lynn Jelle. They have two grown children: Chris and Elizabeth. David served in the USAF in various locations from 1971 till retiring from Davis-Monthan AFB in 1997. Since that time he has been employed in a variety of positions around Tucson with the last full time employment working with Special Education Children in a local school district. David is now a full time grandpa to Lillianna, and Abigail daughter’s of Elizabeth. He has served as a Deacon as well as an Elder in SBC churches. He has taught Adult Bible Study in Sunday Schools and has lead occasional studies on Wednesday evenings. David is also a member of a local Pastor/Leaders meeting at Drexel Heights Baptist Church, sometimes speaking or leading the music worship there in those meetings.
